Landscape Series

I see many interesting landscapes, but choosing one to paint is not always easy.  I do not stick with one subject matter or geographic region – my paintings are of places on different continents with widely ranging topography, climate and scenery.  Some places may be spectacular, others are subtle, requiring more effort to draw out what might be of interest in them.  The common elements in the landscapes I choose to paint are that the light, shadow, shape and tone of the landscape must evoke the feeling I experienced when I viewed that landscape.
